First, decide you are a writer. Then write whenever and wherever. On napkins, in your journal, on your facebook, on your blog, to your mother, to your lover, and to yourself at bedtime. Record your dreams in the middle of the night.
      Just write, write, write.

To actually get a discipline going, start simple, like ten to fifteen minutes first thing in the morning while you’re waiting for your coffee to be ready. Like exercise, doing it early, early, like first thing, is the best habit because then you’ve got the whole day in case you screw up.

Take ten minutes to write during lunch time.

Add to that, ten minutes at bedtime and you’ll have a book by the end of the year! Really.
